In The Name of Christ, we welcome you to this church. May those who sorrow find comfort; the weary, rest; the troubled, peace; the stranger, friends; the unhappy, joy; and to all, a sense of God’s Presence in the Holy Place.

With hope, joy & vision, may the people of Federated Church of Brookston continue to walk with God as they remember their heritage and proclaim and celebrate the “old, old story of Jesus and His love.”

With dreams and aspirations for a better life, the pioneers came to the Great Prairie. They did not forget God who had brought them safely to this land of promise, but established churches for the expression of their faith.

Today, the beneficiaries of this proud heritage are still loving God in this demanding, rapidly changing world.

Being with the talented, dedicated people of this congregation is a privilege, as we work, laugh, serve, and worship together. For future generations, we must retain a pioneer spirit -- a spirit receptive to God’s strength and guidance -- a spirit of mission to the community and the world.

The Federated Church of Brookston was founded in 1919 with the Union Baptist Church and the First Presbyterian Church voted to become one congregation “in order to better fulfill their common mission in the community, to conserve the resources of the Kingdom of God, and to promote the unity of His disciples.” Eighty-seven years later, the members of the Federated church are still guided by this original goal as they proclaim the Gospel with joy and expectation.

We are affiliated with the American Baptist Church and the United Presbyterian Church (USA), participating actively in the work of both denominations. Pastors are called from both denominations on an alternating bases. Open Communion is practiced and Baptism is observed by either immersion or sprinkling.
